Hello!
Here is another update, this time about my GLFX library.
GLFX is a library for Hollywood that make use of the GLGalore plugin so that Hollywood application can access OpenGL to speed up all the graphics stuff.
GLFX is focused on 2D games and features a full set of objects and methods aimed to make the programmer’s life easier 🙂
The library is almost complete and I’m developing Hasteroids, a clone of the classic Asteroids, as a general test before the release (for example I’ve recentely added the collisions between particles and one or more sprite groups).
But let’s talk about this short video
You can see a nice transition between the menu screen and the game screen, the player ship bullets are handled by a particle system, also the bullet explosion is a one-shot particle system, and the ship rear trust is a particle system too!! Yeah! Particle systems everywhere!! 😀
Have alook at the top-left corner, there are some interesting statistics about the performances, like the FPS rate, the number of sprites and particles on the screen.
