Aggiornamento MUIbase 2.11

MUIbase is a relational, programmable database with graphical user interface for Windows, Mac, Linux and Amiga.
MUIbase is a fast and flexible database system. It is targeted for advanced desktop users who want to manage data in a comfortable and powerful way. MUIbase is able to manage any kind of data, e.g. addresses, CD series, movies, photo collections, your family tree, your income and expense, and much more. The power of MUIbase lies in its clear and powerful graphical user interface and its programming capabilities. Programming MUIbase allows you to process data in various ways, e.g. automatic calculations upon user input, generation of reports, import and export of data, etc. For example MUIbase can be used for calculating the total amount of income, or the total amount of recorded time on a CD, or to automatically create and print serial letters to your customers.

Unlimited number of projects, tables, attributes, and records.
Attributes can be of type string, memo (multi line text), integer, real, date, time, bool, choice (one item out of many items), reference (easy way to reference a record of another table), button (for starting MUIbase programs), and virtual (compute value on the fly).
The string type can also manage lists of strings, files, and fonts. A string can refer to an external image which is displayed in the graphical user interface.
Dynamic loading of records. Records which are not needed may be flushed from memory (e.g. when memory is low).
Programmability. With the easy and powerful MUIbase programming language complex tasks can be implemented. The language also includes a SELECT FROM WHERE query for comfortable and fast data retrieval.
Ordering of records by any combinations of attributes.
Flexible and powerful search and filter facility.
Query editor which allows entering and managing of SELECT FROM WHERE queries. The queries can be saved and the results can be printed.
Import and export facility.
Full documentation including user and programming manual in HTML and PDF (plus AmigaGuide on the Amiga).
The Amiga version provides a powerful ARexx interface for accessing MUIbase from other programs. The ARexx interface offers a transaction mechanism similar to other relational databases.
Operating system independence. MUIbase is available for Windows, Mac, Linux and Amiga. The source code is available as part of a Source Forge project.

MUIBase è un bel programma, l'ho sperimentato qualche settimana fa su Windows per vedere a che punto era arrivato, tuttavia la costruzione delle interfacce mi lascia perplesso: lo trovo estremamente macchinoso... ma forse sono io che sono troppo abituato a costruire le GUI visivamente

Allanon, ricordo un po' di tempo fa cercavi di costruire via zulu su AROS dei front-end per muiBase; lo vedi ancora fattibile usare zulu per i front-end e comunicare via AREXX con l'engine? A parte i problemi storici di zulu come quello che l'interfaccia deve essere ridisegnata ad ogni aggiornamento...

ricordi male, MUIBase non c'entra nulla  
anni fa iniziai a lavorare su un database engine (sdb) scritto il Lua (su Windows) poi mi trasferii su AROS ed iniziai ad usare Zulu per vedere se riuscivo a dargli un front-end però a quel tempo Zulu era limitatissimo e Mazze non aveva troppo tempo per lavorarci, riuscii solamente a creare una finestra delle preferenze molto basilare.
Decisi allora di crearmi il mio gui framework ma per fare questo abbandonai Lua per passare ad Hollywood e così cominciai a sviluppare Scui (SDB Custom User Interface).
Un lavoro enorme che comunque mi ha permesso di affinare molte tecniche e adesso sto riscrivendo quel framework con le idee decisamente pià chiare e con un sistema molto più efficiente (adesso si chiama HGui), purtroppo però ho abbandonato il database... poi è venuto LookHere, dopo AMC, adesso Emula più altri progetti minori...  :roll:

o New feature allowing to export the contents of a select-from-where query
  as an ASCII file.

o Allow to export as PDF (Mac OS X, Linux and MorphOS) and print (Windows,
  Mac OS X and Linux) the contents of a select-from-where query.

o Several bug fixes.
